SMM19 is held at the "Torino Incontra" Convention Center, in via Nino Costa 8, centrally located and surrounded by the major historical and cultural attractions of the city, elegant shopping areas, prestigious hotels, internationally renowned museums. The Center is just a few steps from Porta Nuova railway station, Caselle airport terminal, and the Piazzale Valdo Fusi public parking lot with 500 car parking spaces. The conference reception desk will be located at the first underground level of the Center. An oval ramp, also accessible to disabled people, leads there from the main entrance at street level. Two elevators, an escalator and staircases grant easy access to the second underground level, where the whole conference will take pace. Please consult the detailed map for street information about the conference site, social event sites, hotels, and airport terminals. How to get to TorinoFrom Torino Caselle airport The Torino International Airport at Torino Caselle is situated 16 km (10 miles) from the city centre.
BUS The SADEM coach service (blue buses) connects the airport with Torino Porta Nuova central railway station. The terminal is located in corso Vittorio Emanuele II 57/a. On-line departures timetable is available. The bus leaves just in front of the arrivals exit of the airport. One-way travel takes about 40 minutes. One-way fare is 5.50 €. Tickets can be purchased at Tourist bureau, ticket office, ticket machine (arrivals level), and on-board (+0.50 € extra charge).
TAXI The taxi rank is on the arrivals level by the domestic/EU flights exit. The journey takes about 30 minutes from the airport to the city centre, the fare is approximately 30-40 € in the daytime.
CTA (Consorzio Taxisti Aeroporto) provides a personalized taxi/van/limousine service 24 hours a day.
CAR RENTING Car renting is possible at the airport, with these companies: AVIS, Hertz, EuropCar, Budget, Sixt, Maggiore, Thrifty, LocautoRent, TargaRent. The offices are located inside of the multistorey car park and in the arrivals lounge.
From Milano Malpensa airport See SADEM lines timetable for links to and from Milano Malpensa airport. The bus terminal is in corso Vittorio Emanuele II 131/H. One-way ticket fare is 18 €. The trip takes two hours.
By train Torino has two international railway stations, Porta Nuova and Porta Susa, in the downtown area. They are connected by Line 1 of the city subway. On-line timetables are available.
By car Torino can be reached by means of five motorways:
All motorways link up with the Torino ring road (Tangenziale A55, see map), from where you can reach the city centre.
Moving in TorinoThe conference centre and the sites of the conference dinner on Monday and of the concert on Tuesday are within walking distance from the selected hotels (3-30 minutes on foot). The Torino Transport Group (GTT) runs Torino main public transport system (trams, buses and the underground line). Almost all public transport services begin at approximately 5 a.m. and run into the night (until midnight or 1:00 a.m.). Tickets can be bought at tobacconists, news agents, bars, etc. displaying the GTT sticker. One ordinary ticket is valid for 70 minutes from the beginning of the trip and costs 1.00 €.
